Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo at the season five premiereStranger Things actor Gaten Matarazzo has admitted that he and co-star Finn Wolfhard didn’t always bring out the best in each other during their spell as roommates.Gaten and Finn lived together for around a year while they were making the final instalment of Stranger Things, the first part of which dropped on Netflix earlier this week.Speaking on the latest episode of Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s podcast Dinner’s On Me, Gaten claimed that living with Finn was like “a little bit of a college experience”, particularly for two young men who didn’t get the chance to go to uni like many of their agemates because of their work commitments.“I would look around three months after we lived together and [think], ‘This place is disgusting’,” he then admitted.Finn Wolfhard and Gaten Matarazzo in the fourth season of Stranger Things“We match each other’s energy a little bit. We got along so well and had been so close for so long that we didn’t really hold each other to a standard. So we were like, ‘Ah, **** it. Whatever, man. We’ll get to [the housework] later’.”It was only when other members of the cast wanted to pay them a visit that Gaten and Finn – who both turn 23 this year – had a bit of a “wake-up call”.“We would plan to go out and somebody would be like, ‘Alright, we’ll meet you at yours,’” Gaten continued. “Both of us would be like, ‘No. Do not come [within] 10 feet [of] our home’.”Gaten and Finn are now back in action as Dustin and Mike for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. The first four episodes of the new season are available to stream on Netflix, with three more following on Christmas Day.After that, fans will be able to stream the feature-length finale on the streaming platform from New Year’s Eve.MORE STRANGER THINGS:Stranger Things Bosses Name 4 Episodes To Rewatch Before Streaming Season 5Stranger Things Bosses Tease Show's 'Most Violent Death' Ever In Season 5Millie Bobby Brown Opens Up About David Harbour Friendship After Complaint Reports
