Stranger Things is back for its fifth and final seasonAlmost 10 years after it first hit our screens, the hit Netflix series Stranger Things is preparing to wrap up with an epic final battle.Season five crashed onto the platform earlier this week (literally, temporarily bringing the streaming giant down) and has already ushered in waves of fan theories, reviews, and think-pieces about Stranger Things’ legacy.While all the usual suspects like Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Joyce (Winona Ryder) are all present and correct, season five also has a handful of new faces and returning minor characters you might not immediately recognise. Described as “smart”, “intimidating” and “ruthless”, she’s on a mission to hunt down Eleven in the award-winning series’ final episodes.The Golden Globe nominee is probably best known for playing protagonist Sarah Connor in the Terminator movies, but she’s also appeared in Stephen King slasher adaptation Children Of The Corn, portraying the lead character Vicky.You might also recognise her from King Kong Lives, Dante’s Peak, Shadow Conspiracy, Separate Lives and Osiris. Linda’s also a familiar face on TV, taking a lead role in the 1980s fantasy adaptation of Beauty And The Beast opposite Ron Perlman, as well as starring in Chuck, Defiance and nail tech-turned-organised crime drama Claws.Alex BreauxAlex Breaux (and... er... Alex Breaux) in Joe PickettAlex Breaux is new on the scene as Lt. Robert Akers, one of Dr Kay’s henchmen, who is part of the military overseeing Hawkins. He’s also busy lurking around the lab and trying to get hold of Eleven alongside his boss.While Alex is new to the Netflix show, diehard Stranger Things fans might recognise him for his performance in the series’ spin-off theatre show, Stranger Things: The First Shadow.He played a younger version of head scientist and Eleven’s “papa” Dr. Martin Brenner, portrayed by Matthew Modine in the series, in the West End and on Broadway.Meanwhile, if you watched Netflix’s western miniseries American Primeval, you will know Alex from his role as LDS church member Wild Bill Hickman. She joins Stranger Things as Mike and Nancy’s little sister Holly, replacing twin actors Tinsley and Annie Price after the new series’ time jump.Nell’s film debut was in 2023 horror movie Evil Dead Rise, but she also starred opposite Elijah Wood in the comedy adventure Bookworm, as well as playing a minor role in the action thriller Northspur.
